He urged Chiang Wan-an, a newcomer to animation or unfamiliar with certain fields, to be careful to avoid misuse of technology. He also commented on the controversial "smoke-free city" initiative, arguing that Chiang Wan-an often gets things backwards. He cited the "rat poisoning" incident as an example, omitting preliminary analysis and jumping directly to the final step. He criticized Chiang Wan-an's attempt to establish outdoor smoking rooms, arguing that Chiang wanted to emulate foreign practices but instead aimed for a one-step solution. Shen Bo-yang criticized Chiang Wan-an, saying, "His approach to things always has logical fallacies." Shen Bo-yang, a graduate with a PhD in criminology from the US, stated in the interview, "I studied criminology within ecology, and ecology also includes urban governance." Since high school, Shen Bo-yang has been the president of the local culture research club, often inviting Professor Liu Ke-xiang to lead groups on walks through Taipei's trails and temples.
