Each year, before winter seals the mountain passes, Karma Tshering must lead his wife, children, yaks, and salt caravan south across snow, rock, and high-altitude danger. This documentary follows one of the last great nomadic journeys still alive in the Himalayas, through the remote region of Dolpo in northwestern Nepal. It is a world shaped by Tibetan culture, sacred monasteries, yak herding, and a salt trade that is now under pressure from the modern market. Along the way come grief, exhaustion, sacred rituals, dangerous passes above 5,000 meters, and the constant question of whether this way of life can survive for the next generation.
