A 10-year-old girl in Taipei City was allegedly sexually assaulted by her mother's sex trade partner late last year (2025). Despite reporting the incident 240 days ago, she received no protection, leading to self-harm. Taipei City Councilor Miao Boya questioned the Taipei City Government's handling of the matter during a Taipei City Council interpellation today (31st). Unexpectedly, she was met with a sharp retort from Social Affairs Bureau Director Yao Shuwen, prompting Miao Boya to angrily retort, "You adults are hiding behind 10-year-old children; these children are braver than you."
