BLOUSE TAX • The joint session that will analyze Provisional Measure No. 1,357, known as the blouse tax MP, is postponed to 4 pm this Tuesday (1). Senator Leila Barros (PDT) and the president of the joint committee, Reginaldo Lopes (PT), announced the decision this morning. The measure exempts international purchases of up to 50 dollars from taxes. Before the vote, they must meet with the presidents of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre (UNIÃO), and the Chamber, Hugo Motta (PB), to finalize the last adjustments to the text. According to BandNews FM reporter Afonso Marangoni, the trend is for approval. The text foresees an evaluation in three months to verify the effects of the exemption and, if necessary, discuss mitigation measures. The proposal needs to advance by September 8th to avoid losing its validity. Hugo Motta wants to vote on the measure this Tuesday (01) in the Chamber and leave the Senate analysis for Wednesday (02).
