What is An Attractive Man? Ireland 1967
It is not all about muscles. Women give their views on what they find attractive in a man. Reporter Cathal O’Shannon asks young women about the physical attributes that they find attractive in men. According to those interviewed, both physical attributes and personality contribute to the attractiveness of a man. "I don’t like a man who’s too preoccupied with his own masculinity." Musical talents also featured in the list of desirable characteristics. "I’m very attracted to men who are able to sing and play music." One woman says she like a well-proportioned man in terms of height and build. "I find those muscular men rather revolting to look at." Another woman reinforces this view, "...Apollo type specimens of humanity which I find rather disgusting looking." This episode of ‘Newsbeat’ was broadcast on 27 June 1967. The reporter is Cathal O’Shannon.
