Abhijeet Dipke started the Cockroach Janta Party, or CJP almost as a joke, after the Chief Justice of India allegedly compared India's unemployed youth to cockroaches. Soon, the satirical youth movement became the face of one of India’s biggest Gen Z-led protests against exam irregularities and educational reforms leading to the resignation of India's education minister. Now, the CJP has started a new campaign called ’School Theek Karo’ or ‘Fix the school’ campaign, demanding better infrastructure in India’s government schools. But, who is the man behind the cockroach? The BBC’s Ishadrita Lahiri sat down with Dipke to talk about his journey, the rise of CJP and what comes next for him and the party.
