Criminal Lawyer Reacts To The End Of The LINDSAY CLANCY Trial

For over a month, the trial of Lindsay Clancy has gripped the world. It's easy to see why. This was a despicable crime where 3 young children lost their life - and through all the online discourse happening around this case it's important to remember that there are real victims. But who did it? Well...we know the children's own mother is the culprit. She ended their lives then tried to kill herself - unsuccessfully - and has been standing trial. In this trial though, the question isn't whether or not she did it. The question is can she be held criminally responsible. Was she able to appreciate the wrongfulness of her actions - and was she able to follow the law. This trial has really put a spot light on women's mental health. Lindsay claims she was suffering from Postpartum Depression and psychosis. She claims this caused her to hear a voice in her head that pushed her to commit these murders. So here we are know. Over a month in the courtroom. Prosecutors called 70 witnesses. Defense called 10. And even though Lindsay did not testify, her prior statements were read. Lindsay Clancy has plead Not Guilty on the 3 counts of murder. The jury is able to consider First Degree Murder, Second Degree Murder, or Manslaughter Charges. Let's be clear though. No matter what happens, Lindsay Clancy is not going home. She will either find herself behind bars, or living in a hospital until she is no longer a threat to herself or others.
