The Puracé volcano registered an increase in seismic activity in Cauca, with dozens of volcano-tectonic events, including a magnitude 4.1 earthquake and later another of 4.3. The Colombian Geological Survey (SGC) reported that several tremors were felt in Puracé, Totoró, and Popayán. During the early morning of August 30, a magnitude 2.0 aftershock was also recorded in Totoró. The volcano remains on orange alert, and the Colombian Geological Survey continues to monitor the activity.
