Oil prices surged on Monday, August 31st, amid renewed clashes between the United States and Iran in the Middle East. This movement led Brent crude, the international benchmark for the commodity, to once again surpass the $90 per barrel mark. Around 10:00 AM, the price was up 5.32%, at $90.71. The increase comes after US forces attacked two Iranian rocket launchers on Larak Island, located in the Strait of Hormuz, on Sunday. It was the first US offensive against Iranian forces in over a month. The attack left two dead and two wounded.
