Shabana Mahmood TORN APART over 'LAWLESS GANG CHAOS' in Britain

Cleveland Police will receive an extra £2 million to crack down on serious crime, the Home Secretary confirmed, following a spate of incidents in and around Middlesbrough. Shabana Mahmood made the pledge after Prime Minister Andy Burnham paid tribute to two officers killed in the line of duty on the A66 near Middlesbrough on Saturday, 22 August. PC Matthew Blades, 37, and PC Tom Clough, 38, died when a Volkswagen Passat, pursued by police, was driven the wrong way along a dual carriageway and smashed into their marked armed-response vehicle. Cleveland Police said the five young men who died after their vehicle collided with a police car on a dual carriageway may have had links to serious and organised criminal activity. Unveiling the extra funding in the House of Commons, shadow secretary Chris Philp fired back, saying the gang 'chaos' should never have been able to take route in the first place.
