But because of the vital need to ensure a legitimate succession, a Queen was required to be completely faithful, preserving their womb as a sacred vessel for the King’s seed alone. But just because Queens were supposed to be unerring, didn’t mean that they always were. And in some cases the King was physically or psychologically incapable of consummating the royal marriage, or he was just gay. And the Queen was forced into adultery in order to save the succession.
