After weeks of trying to shift the focus to an “economic war” against Iran, the Trump Admin has suddenly returned to a military war, with U.S. forces targeting two Iranian missile launchers on Iran’s Larak Island on Sunday. Iran responded immediately, carrying out strikes on American fighter jets at air bases in Jordan, and an air base in the UAE. Ret. U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel and Professor, Karen Kwiatkowski, noted that the latest escalations—from Trump attacking Iran, to bragging about stealing Venezuelan oil—are all part of the U.S. empire’s global energy war. The U.S. has been defeated in the direct war against Iran, defeated a in proxy war against Russia, AND it can’t even begin to compete with China.
