A linear rainband formed in Aomori Prefecture early this morning. Record-breaking rainfall exceeding 200 millimeters flooded the town center of Ajigasawa, and we are reporting live from the train station. I will report from a safe location. However, mud remains on the streets and sidewalks, leaving footprints. In Ajigasawa, where the linear rainband formed, rain continued from early morning, with 225 millimeters of rain recorded in a short period of half a day. A record-breaking short-term heavy rainfall was also announced, flooding the town center. Cars and fire engines were submerged, and residents were busy cleaning up. When I spoke to residents, they expressed their anxiety, saying, "It was terrifying. I hardly slept at all last night." Ajigasawa also experienced a heavy rain disaster four years ago, which resulted in flooding damage to 580 buildings. According to the town, no injuries have been reported so far, but at least 15 buildings have been found to have been flooded.
