The recapture of the forest strips significantly weakens the ability of Russian troops to advance to Kupyansk and to the left bank to Kupyansk-Vuzlovye, and also neutralizes the enemy's attempts to unite the Kupyansk and Vovchansky fronts for a deeper breakthrough into the Kharkiv region.
