The suspended Crime Intelligence deputy head’s urgent Labour Court application to stop a SAPS disciplinary process was struck off the roll. Judge Connie Prinsloo found the court lacked jurisdiction to intervene in the incomplete internal proceedings and alternatively found that Khan had failed to establish urgency. Meanwhile, the Madlanga Commission has postponed Khan’s testimony to Monday, 28 September 2026 at 09:30. But there is a major condition. Khan will only be excused from appearing in person if he voluntarily undergoes an independent medical evaluation by a specialist agreed upon by his representatives and the Commission’s Evidence Leaders by 8 September — and that specialist submits a medical report to the commission. Khan must also submit a response to the commission’s Regulation 10(6) notices by 18 September 2026. His medical certificates and the circumstances surrounding amendments to them were also scrutinised during the proceedings.
