Warnings of further floods in Nepal issued after barrier lake overflows
Chinese authorities halted rescue operations on the Nepal-China border momentarily on Aug 28 after a barrier lake formed by glacier debris started to overflow, threatening further floods. While rescue work resumed after the overflow stopped, China expects more than 3 million cubic metres to flow into the lake over the next few days which could lead to flooding.
