What will Bogotá's train and metro network look like in 2040? In this video, I present a technical analysis and my own projection of how Bogotá's mass transit rail network could evolve over the next 15 years: from the elevated Line 1, through the Western and Northern RegioTrams, to the future Lines 2, 3, 4, and 5 of the Bogotá Metro. Based on official timelines, the current Land Use Plan (Decree 555 of 2021), the city's technical and political capacity, and analyses of similar projects, I propose a realistic timeline—also pointing out where I believe the official dates will not be met, and why. What you'll see in this video: Elevated Line 1 and its extension to 108th Street RegioTram West (Facatativá) and RegioTram North (Zipaquirá) Underground Line 2 along 72nd Street towards Suba and Engativá Line 3 to Soacha: the official date vs. my realistic projection What could happen with Lines 4 and 5 in the 2040s Everything you see here combines confirmed official information with my own projections based on technical evidence—always distinguishing between fact and hypothesis.
