Originally, the back balcony not only had an exposed ditch, but also problems with mosquitoes, cockroaches, and rats. After the floor was re-laid, we found that the polished cement kept dusting off, and shortly after putting the washing machine back in, it was covered in a layer of cement dust every day. So we decided to try installing epoxy flooring ourselves. The DIY process was anything but smooth sailing! 🤣 The drill burned out, a packet of hardener was missing, and then a downpour hit halfway through… Also, in this episode, we fixed the leak in the exterior wall of our back balcony. We reinstalled the drain, connected the pipes, and patched the cement. Just as we finished, a heavy rainstorm hit, giving us a perfect opportunity to check if it had improved anything! This was our first serious attempt at DIY masonry. While there's still a lot of room for improvement, seeing our messy back balcony gradually transform into a usable space was very rewarding.
