What we didn't tell them was that we were coming back. Rupert’s house had gotten so bad his own family was scared it was going to collapse on top of him. They were already talking about putting him in a retirement home, not because they wanted to, but because staying there just wasn't safe anymore. Nobody in that house saw another way out. So we got to work. We took on the worst of it, the things that made this house unsafe for him to live in, and we didn't stop until it felt like home again.
