“Así ya no se puede vivir”: vecina de Zacatecas narra terror tras coche bomba

Tere Medellín, a retired teacher and resident of Ojocaliente, Zacatecas, recounted the fear she experienced with her children and grandchildren after a vehicle loaded with explosives detonated in front of the municipal police station. The blast wave damaged her home, shattering windows and cracking the roof; her grandson also suffered minor scratches. Medellín stated that fear persists among the area's residents and questioned the authorities' response. She said that some neighbors are still without power and that, at the time of the interview, only Civil Protection personnel had arrived to conduct a damage assessment. The Zacatecas Attorney General's Office has identified the Jalisco New Generation Cartel as one of the lines of investigation into the attack on the police station.
