A Tourist Got Wedged and Trapped Two People Behind Him | The Buzzards Roost Cave Accident

On May 30, 1993, William J. Coughlin joined a commercial “Wild Cave Tour” at Buzzards Roost Cave in Kentucky. The tour led six visitors through undeveloped passages, hanging cable ladders and narrow crawls. Before the night was over, one of those passages had become an inescapable trap. This video reconstructs the Buzzards Roost Cave accident and the decisions that turned a guided tourist experience into a fatal rescue operation.
