This is my car trip through Romania and Transylvania! About 2000 km through mountains, forests, ancient cities. I drove along one of the most famous mountain roads in the country: Transfagarasan (Transfăgărășan) and the high-altitude Transalpina (Transalpina), visited the wild Carpathians and northern forests. Along the way there was Red Lake (Lacu Roșu), Bicaz Canyon (Cheile Bicazului / Bicaz Canyons), hiking, observation decks and, of course, bears. And not in a zoo, but right on the roads of Romania. I met as many as 13 bears! Therefore, let's talk separately about what to do if you meet a wild bear and how safe it is to travel through the Carpathians by car. And then Transylvania with its castles, fortresses and cities that look as if they were left as scenery for a movie. Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle), Peleș Castle (Sinaia), Corvin Castle (Corvinilor / Castelul Corvinilor / Hunedoara), Râșnov Fortress, as well as Brașov and Sibiu, medieval streets, interesting architecture and old legends about bloodsuckers. This video is not only about beautiful roads and tourist places. During the trip, I tried to figure out what is really happening with Romania. Is it really a corrupt and outdated EU country, as it is often shown, or is the reality a little more complicated? If you are planning a trip to Romania by car, I think this video will help you better understand where to go, what to see and what to be prepared for in the Romanian Carpathians.
